Been a while again lol, I don’t come here all too often because I’m pretty shy, but I’ve also been pretty socially fatigued all year too which has made being social very hard. I’ve also been a bit burnt out I think, creatively speaking. I just haven’t found it in me recently to create or want to do anything it seems? Idk, regardless though, I have an art course to complete and this piece was created for a part of my final major project, this isn’t the final piece itself, more like an accompanying piece. My chosen theme was “glimpses” but I took it to mean a glimpse into the past, or specifically into childhood and early artistic development, as I find that old art and art you create as a child is very much a glimpse into the person you once were. So for my pieces I’ve tried to use materials and themes relating to childhood, or even just art mediums I used to use alot as a kid, such as crayons, coloured pencils, stickers and coloured pen. This piece itself is based on a memory I had as a child, of spotting a fox at the back of my old home late in the evening. It’s a memory that means a lot to me bc of how fascinated I felt seeing wildlife like that so close, that and it was the first time I’d seen a fox in person before. Well that’s the general idea of the piece anyway lol, mostly wanted to create this to experiment with collage and stuff. Materials I used were stickers, washi tape, acrylic brush markers ( for the fox and bushes), crayons and a green coloured pen. The white highlights were added digitally in procreate to make all the elements stand out better.
