Part two of a two part horror 3D illustrator I did in Blender, where the monster found the POV character. I wanted it to look like a cheap jumpscare on purpose a little bit lol

Wasn't really going for serious horror with this, (I wanted it to look more like a slightly silly B-movie or monster-slasher film,) but it still took a while of tweaking the lighting, camera angle, compositing etc to get this right. In flat or natural lighting, this character model doesn't actually look very scary at all, you might even argue it looks cute under different conditions, which wasn't a problem with Part 1 because I could of the lofi camcorder film (which was done with compositing + turning down the render resolution percent really low btw BTW) but since the creature was up-close I kind of had to use lighting to make it look a bit more menacing, albeit in a cheesy B-horror kind of way

Not sure if it's easy for others to tell that the creature is supposed to be a bit shorter than human height, since there isn't really a clear reference point for that here, but I wanted to go for a "horrible little creature that's not very big but very aggressive" kind of thing, which idk why but I feel like is kind of scarier than just a big 7-foot-tall monster (maybe it's because animals that are both small and dangerous are extremely aggressive, like I feel like I'd be more scared to encounter a bobcat than a coyote in most cases lol)

Thank you!

The fur "texture" is actually just hair particles over a material with a noise bump lol

The post took a bit of trickery, the arm is actually outstretched in a way that looks silly from any other angle, but it looks right from this angle. A lot of times 3D art/animation does weird perspective-specific stuff like that
