By: ribose ~ View Artworks Artist's Comments: this is a willet (Tringa semipalmata) from a morning trip to the shore in may. i went with my serious birder friends who are able to identify nearly every bird in our area. (they also lend me their nice binoculars ) in 3 hours we saw more than 50 species, but none posed as politely for us as this willet. |

| July 17, 2025 @711.11 I like its bunchy shorts! Also thank you for the link to all those Willet facts. This bird has lot going on (both delectable and deceptive). Also what beautiful wings! I own a pair of binoculars mainly for stargazing but I'm thinking this autumn I might give bird-watching a go (I say this every year but now that I'm part of the nature camp guild maybe this will stick).
