| a Summer night Quote from: jP this is SO PRETTY it reminds me a litle of a horror point n click game! Thanks so much @jP! This piece was part of a proposal for an art show that never ended up happening, but I've always been happy with how this mockup turned out :-) My idea was to use an old wifi router to create a "shrine" that users could connect to using their phones, where they could read messages from those who had come before and leave messages for future visitors to read (kinda like interacting with ghosts/spirits of those who had previously inhabited the space). For most of the mockups, I used Blender to design/render 3D models, and GIMP to turn the exported frames into animated gifs, but for this one it was more of a hodgepodge of four different images I found online and layered. I used GIMP's built in Floyd-Steinberg dithering algorithm + a limited color palette to give it that crusty old PC game look. My favorite detail is the animated LEDs on the router itself ![]() |
